“Ordination is the process by which an individual clergy is set apart by a local congregation for specific services… It is done through the laying on of hands which is symbolic of the laying aside of the candidate for specific duties.” These were the words of the CBC Executive President ,Rev Dr. Nditemeh Charlemagne during the ordination service of Pastor Peter Ngomba Ebolo held on Sunday 23rd of May 2021 at Salvation Baptist Church Bokwai in Buea. Rev. Dr Ndeley Samuel was the day’s speaker who exalted the candidate and the rest of the congregation under the theme: “Anointing Makes the Difference” drawn from 1st Samuel 16: 1-12. The Speaker said the anointing was used in the past to set God’s Chosen Ones apart for service. Today, the anointing is still essential in setting an individual apart for God’s use because it commands God’s blessings, and it carries the presence of God. It is also capable of stopping the enemies schemes and advancing the gospel. Pastor Ebolo was therefore charged to go for the anointing. Rev Mbella Robert, the Ordination Council Secretary read the minutes of the ordination which revealed that Pastor Ebolo performed well with a score of 90% and was declared fit for ordination.
The Moderator of the Council Rev Njobara Nelson read the profile of the candidate and presented him to the council. The ordination rites were performed by Rev. Dr. Nditemeh Charlemagne who asked the candidate questions on his faith in Christ, his future duties as a Reverend Pastor and if he will stay loyal to the hierarchy of the CBC, and upon his affirmative answers, Rev Nditemeh declared him fit to be ordained. Also worth mentioning is that his wife also pledged to support him fully in this new call. After all the ordained ministers laid hands on him and prayed, Rev Dr. Nditemeh and Rev Dr. Timothy declared him an ordained Pastor of the CBC. The Soppo Field Pastor Rev. Timothy Liombe charged the newly ordained to study and preach the Word, stay humble and build the church of God.
Rev. Ngomba Peter Ebolo answered the call to ministry in 2011, graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Theology from CBTS Ndu on May 23rd 2015, same year in which he answered the call as Pastor of Salvation Baptist Church Bokwai and coincidentally, has been ordained Rev. Pastor of the CBC on May 23rd 2021.
