Cameroon Baptist Theological Seminary Expands to Train More Servants for God’s Work in Kumba
The Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC) is pleased to announce the opening of a new theological seminary campus in Kumba, marking a significant step forward in expanding ministerial training and deepening Christian discipleship in the southern regions of Cameroon.
The Cameroon Baptist Theological Seminary (CBTS), originally based in Ndu, now operates on two campuses—Ndu and Kumba—as part of CBC’s commitment to equipping leaders for effective service in the church and society. This expansion allows more individuals to access contextualized, Bible-based theological education without having to relocate far from their homes or ministries.
“The campuses offer courses at Diploma, Degree, and Master levels in various concentrations such as Biblical Studies, Pastoral Care and Counseling, Evangelism and Missions, Music, Bible Translation, and Christian Leadership,” the CBC document notes.
The Kumba campus is designed to offer the same academic excellence, qualified faculty, and strong spiritual formation that CBTS is known for. With accreditation from the Association for Christian Theological Education in Africa (ACTEA) and a library of over 25,000 volumes, CBTS continues to uphold its vision of “Presenting Everyone Perfect in Christ” (Colossians 1:28).
This expansion also aligns with the CBC’s mission to glorify God by proclaiming the Gospel holistically across Cameroon and beyond. It ensures that pastors, missionaries, church leaders, and lay workers are trained with both biblical integrity and practical relevance to serve effectively in today’s world.
